US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.
Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.
Gatherings across the state have occurred in their memory.
The commander-in-chief said heâs talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the state National Guard.
âI told them: âWhen youâre ready, because thatâs a hard experience, visit the White House. Weâre going to honor Sarah,â Trump addressed reporters. âAnd similarly with him, no matter the outcome.â
Mourners gathered over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.
Both the soldiers had been working with the state guard as part of Trumpâs government program to support policing efforts in Washington DC.
âShe was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,â Jarrod Hankins, the leader of her previous school, stated to the Associated Press. âShe was sweet, compassionate and always willing to help others.â
Memorial plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.
Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.
