Liverpool's Star Issues Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the team in the wake of the uproar from his televised remarks.

What Happened

He was omitted from a European match following voicing frustrations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”

The manager has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.

Team Unity

He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also noted that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”

On-Field Response

Their results have remained strong in the matches since the situation. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.

“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a good place,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
