Football star Earps Explains Her Autobiography Was Not Written to Criticize Others

Goalkeeper Mary Earps has openly declared that her recently published autobiography was never intended to “damage others” and voiced unease that media response has been “misrepresented.”

The ex-Lionesses player, who had a vital part in the Euro 2022 victory, encountered disapproval from fans and Blues coach Sonia Bompastor after commenting about ex-colleague Hannah Hampton and coach Sarina Wiegman.

In her memoir, Earps reportedly claimed told Wiegman she was “encouraging negative conduct” by bringing Hampton back to the national team after dropping her for being “disruptive and unreliable.”

“I’ve found it quite intense to see how some things have been distorted,” Earps stated publicly.
