Ex- Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor stands accused of performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.

Details of the Serious Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

One senior CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

• Fifteen counts of assault.
• 17 counts of assault by penetration.
• Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
